Amendment A1 containchanges and additions to Table 11 and Table11 of EN 295-1:1991. This amendnent containsa change to Table9 for the tensile strength ofpolypropylene for sleeve couplings. There will be-an amendmentto 16.2 of EN 295-3:1991 for the rate of grip separationto be Speed C (50 mm/min + 10 %). CEN will decidewhether the complete or corrected Table 11and Table 11 wiil be published separately from the original version of EN 295-1:1991asan amendmentor the changes will be incorporatedin a revised publication of the standard. Pipes and fittings may be unglazed or glazed on the inierior and/or exterior. When glazedthey need not be glazed on the ting surfaces ofthe spigot and socket. 2.4 Squareness of ends The deviation from squarenessm€asuredat the pipe ends shall be not greater than 6 mm up to and including DN 300. Greater than DN 300, the deviationshall not exceed 2 % of DN. The test methodis given in clause 2 of EN 295-3.

For straight fittingsthe same tolerance shall apply to the manufacturer'sstated nominal length.

2.6 Water seal of fittings

.Other nominal sizes> DN 100 may be manufactured to comply with this standard, providing that the minimum permissible bore is not more than 2,5 % lessthan the nominal size, rounded to the nearestmm.

2.3 Length The preferred nominal lengths of pipesof DN 200 and greater either shall be as in Table2 or they shall be whole multiples of 250 mm. There are no preferred nominal lengths for DN 100and DN 150 prpes. Table 2 - Preferred norninal lengths

2.7 Angle of curvature and radius of bends The preferred nominal curvaturesof bends a r e 1 1 , 2 5 ' - 1 5 "- 2 2 , 5 "- 3 0 "- 4 5 ' - 9 0 " . The toleranceof curvature shall be + 3' on the nominal value for bends of 11,25'and 15", $ 4' for bends of 22,5"and 30" and + 5" for bends of 45" and 90'. The radius, measured to the neutral axis, shall be not less than the nominal sizein mm except for knuekle bends,which are allowedup to DN 150.

Higher bending moment resistance values may be required ifhigher values for crushing strength than those in Table 4 and Table 5 are declared.

2.12 Bond strength of adhesive used for fixing fired clay parts together 2.12.1 Minimum bending tensile strength Fabricated test specimensshall not fracture through the adhesivenor at the adhesive clay interface under a bending tensile stress of 5 N/mm2 after full curing when made and tested in accordancewith clause 7 of EN 295-3. 2.12.2 Minimum strength after immersion Test as in 2.12.1 but after immersion in test solutions as specifiedin clause 2O of EN 295-3.

2.13Fatigue strength under pulsating load Vitrified clay pipes specified in this standard are resistant to fatigue from pulsating loads. For special circumstancesof application the relistance to fatigue shall be veiified by cyclic loading of 2 x 106 :ycles with an equivalent load varying between 0,1 and 0,4 times the crushing strength of the pipe. The specimensshall withstand the test in accordance with clause 8 of EN 295-3 without failure.

2.14Watertightness of pipes When pipes,bends and junctions or pipe sections are tested in accordancewith clause 9 of EN 295-3 :he water addition Wlg neededto rnaintain the cressure of 50 kPa (0,5 bar) shall not exceed 0,07 iitres/m2 of wetted internal pipe surface area without leakage.

2.15 Chemical resistance r'itrified clay pipes and fittings specified in this ;tandard are resistant to chemical attack. For ;pecial circumstancesof application the chemical iesistance may be determined by rhe use of the test :n clause10 of EN 295-3.

Vitrifred clay pipes and fittings specified in this stanrlard have a low hydraulicroughness. For specialcircumstancesof application the hydraulic roughnessmay be verifiedby the use ofthe test in clause1l of EN 295-3.

2.17Abrasion resistance Vitri.fred clay pipes and httings specified in this standard are r'esistant to abrasion. For special circumstancesof applicationthe abrasion resistance may be determined by the useof the test method in clause 12 of EN 295-3.

2.18 Airtightness Pipes,bends,junctions andpipe sections shall be tested in accordancewith clause13 of EN 295-3:1991. The barrelsshall be testedby either method LA, LB, LC or LD given in Table 7 and shall withstand an initial air pressure po.
