Friendship A true friend loves you unconditionally, will not judge you but always tries to you and gives good advice. Sam and Raj help Lee to raise money so that Lee can go to the fair with them. They do not abandon him but try their best to make him able to them.
Determination “When there is a will, there is a way” If you want something, you will find a way to have it. The children are determined to go to the fair together. They do not give up when Lee does not have money and fail to earn money. They continue to do a few jobs to earn money.
A Person of Integrity It is never a disadvantage to be a person of integrity. Someone who is honest and keeps to moral principle will earn himself good name and even good return. In the story, Lee keeps to his integrity by returning the woman’s purse even though he could just take the money. In the end, his integrity leads him to being rewarded! He is praised for his honesty and he earns money to go to the fair.
