Usamos os adjetivos para comparar duas ou mais igualdades.

Os adjetivos se encontram nos seguintes graus: • Comparative (Comparativo): - of inferiority (de inferioridade) - of equality (de igualdade) - of superiority (de superioridade) • Superlative (Superlativo): - of inferiority (de inferioridade) - of superiority (de superioridade)

Comparative of inferiority (Comparativo de inferioridade) • No Inglês o comparativo de inferioridade segue a seguinte fórmula de construção: less + adjetivo + than

Exemplos: Louise / tall / Anthony

Comparative of equality (Comparativo de igualdade) • No Inglês o comparativo de igualdade segue a seguinte fórmula de construção:

• as + adjetivo + as - Afirmativa • not as/not so + adjetivo + as - Negativa

Comparative of superiority (Comparativo de superioridade) • Monossilábico (uma sílaba): cheap, big/small, tall/short, old/young, sad, ...

Magali / short / Cascão

• Monossilábicos CVC (ConsoanteVogal-Consoante) : big, thin, fat... Monica / big / Magali Cascão / fat / Cebolinha

• Bissilábico (duas sílabas): modern, stupid, quiet, ... Ferrari / modern / Fusca

• Bissilábico terminado em "-y": pretty, healthy, ugly, heavy, happy... heavy - heavier than Angelina Jolie / pretty / Julia Roberts

• Bissilábico terminado em "-er", "-le", "-ow": clever, simple, nerrow (acrescentase "-er" no final do adjetivo) door / nerrow / gate

• Monossilábico (uma sílaba): cheap, big/small, tall/short, old/young, sad, ...

• Bissilábico (duas sílabas): modern, stupid, quiet, cheap, curious...
