Kobold Warriors
T
hroughout time Kobolds have lived and served various dragons. Over the centruies the dragons have tought them the art of warfare and helped them develop certain technologies and techniques that would aid in guarding their lair.
Kobold Slingers
Kobold slingers typically are only sent out on scouting missions. They are extra cowardly, prefering their companions to take the front while the slingers try to cause chaos in the enemies ranks.
Kobold Dragonshields
Dragonshields are chosen from among the elite of the elite Kobold warriors. In large scale warfare they are used as heavy shock troops. Ususally they will flank an enemy unit that is pinned down by allies and cut through the enemy like butter. They also are used for escorting VIPs accross hostile lands and guarding the entrances to their dragon master's sleeping chamber. When not on escorting or guard duty they can be seen guarding the current wyrmpriest of their tribe.
A Kobold is usually promoted to a Wyrmpriest when it has greatly pleased its dragon master. The dragon grants the Wyrmpriest partial draconic powers such as a breath weapon, usually like the Kobold's master. Though it has been rumored that some Kobold's have evoled a breath weapon naturally. Those that do though are thought to be heretics and are usually driven from the tribe into the hostile wilderness.
Kobold Slyblade
The Kobold Slyblades are not very well known, because it is rare that someone lives to tell tales about them. They are by far the most deadly and loyal tools of war the Kobold Wyrmpriest can use. Sticking to shadows the Kobold Slyblades are deadly assassins. Only the stealthest Kobolds from the tribe are chaosen to undergo the harsh and deadly training to become Slyblades. Slyblades are great at blending in with the general population of the tribe. The affianity for stealth and their precision with their blade Kobold Slyblades are greatly feared within their tribes. Causing fear and the thrill of the kill is what drives most Slyblades to serve their masters. The only order a Slyblade would think about disobeying would be to spare someone's life.
Kobold Footsoldir
Kobold Footsoldiersare the bread and butter of any Kobold army. While they have recieved a fair amount of training, they tend to be cowardly. They rely on their numbers during combat and usually flee if faced with a greater fighting force. These Kobolds tend to make up the majority of guards. Typically in large scale warfare Kobold Footsoldiers hold more advanced enemies at bay until their Dragonshield allies in for the flanking attack.
Kobold Skirmisher
Kobold Skirmishers recieve minimal training and are considered highly expendable. Due to the lack of training they are eaisly the most cowardly of the Kobold forces. In large scale warfare they are used as an archery unit, firing vollies of arrows from behind a phalanx of Dragonshields or a wall of Footsoldiers. Though they are capable of fighting in close range most generals avoid this due to their lack of training. Outside of warfare, they are commonly used as wall guards, scouting missions and just regular guards. Though smart generals always assign a few Dragonshields with them make sure they keep in line and don't abandon their post.
Kobold Wyrmpriest
The Kobold Wyrmpriest can be seen as the leader of any Kobold tribe. Though they rarely go into battle, Kobold Wyrmpriests are still a force to be reckon with. In tribes that revere dragons, Kobold Wyrmpriests usually lead the worship and are highly respected. Tribes of Kobold that are controlled by a dragon usually have a Kobold Wyrmpriest as a liaeison, issuing and enforcing the commands of the dragon. PART 1 | Fluff

All Dragonshield kobolds in the phalenx and any small creature directly behind them have total cover. While in the phalenx formation the Dragonshields can not move or attack. The only exception would be for their shield bash attack(see below). If a Dragonshield takes any action besides maintaining the phalenx then that Dragonshield is no longer part of the phalenx. Sidenote: Borrowing some things Breath Weapon Recharge In 4e dragons have their breath weapon auto recharge when they are bloodied(half heatlh) and then they immediatly use it. I plan on using this feature for the Kobold Wyrmpriest but did not put it on in the state block for others that don't want to use it. Just a friendly suggestion to other DMs.
