Monologue Play: Durata medie de viata a masinilor de spalat / The average life of washing machines Character: Tata/ The father Do you have a soul mate? Anybody has one, only that it can happen that you are in Romania, and your soul mate is in the New Zealand. That means you had bad luck. That’s it. My soul mate is the very Madonna. No matter how much Madonna she is, she has to have a soul mate, like everybody else. And that is me! I wrote to her for 5 or 6 years. I told her that the guy she was married to was a profiteer and that she should brake up with him. Did she listen to me? She did! She divorced last year! I asked her to come and sing in Romania. Did she come? She did! She does exactly what I tell her to do. So, I went to meet her. Wellll, that concert… actually, I sat way behind and I couldn’t see a thing. But at one time…. BUFFFFF! An explosion. And than, I did see! On the scene there was a colored dot that was moving like this tiunng tiuungg from one place to another. That was her. After the concert I wanted to get back to that scene and ask Madonna out to a restaurant. I told the bodyguards that I was an acquaintance of hers and that they should let me . And bam, I woke up with a fist in my face from one of those niggers. And than I felt pissed off and I hit him, too. I hit, he hit, I hit, he hit and then… I don’t know anymore. I slept in that park where the concert was. When I woke up and I ed what happened I got so angry that I went straight to Madonna’s hotel and asked for her. And that woman from the reception, she was more sour than a pickle! First she made one of those faces, as if I asked her to marry me or something. Afterwards, she told me that there was no Madonna staying in that hotel. I told her I wasn’t leaving until they ask her to come. An than, what do you think the stupid did? She asked the bodyguards to come and throw me out of the hotel. And they beat me, too. So I wanted to stay outside the hotel and see when Madonna was coming out. She had to come out at one point, didn’t she? But I think I fell asleep and I lost her. She left, that bitch! Do you understand me? I felt that she wasn’t around anymore. That’s how it is with soul mates, they feel each other around, and I didn’t feel her anymore. She left to Sofia, to see another one.
