BEFORE THE TEST 1.
Make sure you have a copy of the MUET exam slip with you.

Check you testing date and time.

Find out where your test center is and the location of the testing and the waiting/quarantine room.

Make all the necessary preparation and arrangement i.e. mental preparation, transportation, IC, exam slip and etc.
5.
Visualise your roles. School candidates would usually know their group arrangement but external candidates might not. So visualise yourself in different speaking “turns” i.e. as Candidate A, B, C and D and try to figure out how you are going to express yourself should you be assigned any of the “turns”.

Read a few past year questions. And try to practice carrying out the 2 tasks with friends or with family at home.

Get enough rest prior to the exam.

On the testing day you will need to be at the exam center at least 30 minutes earlier.

You will be quarantined for 30 minutes. Your attendance will be taken at the quarantine room.

Once all the initial papers works are completed by the usher and the examiners, your group will be called into the exam room. Make sure you are seated as instructed by the examiners. DURING THE TEST

There will be a question paper (a sheet of paper) containing the situation on the table in front of where you will be sitting. Sometimes the question paper is covered with transparent protective plastic sheet. Do not take the question paper out of the protective plastic sheet. Just read the question through the plastic sheets.

You will also be given a piece of writing paper for you to jot down your notes or to prepare responses to the tasks.

You will read the questions silently for 1 minute. After 1 minute you ask for clarification on certain words or phrases from the situation that you don’t understand.

You will be give 2 minutes to prepare your points for Task A. You can use brainstorming, mind mapping or outlining techniques when preparing your points. When you are stuck, think about all the question words i.e. WHAT? WHO?, WHERE ?, WHY?, WHEN?, HOW?, HOW MUCH?

After the 2 minutes preparation times, each of you will be given 2 minutes to present your views/opinions/suggestions as requested by Task A. When doing task A make sure you are presenting only from the view point assigned to you. Do not change your view point. Once everyone has spoken then you will proceed to TASK B. For Task B, you will be given 2 more minutes to prepare your points individually. Here you may change or maintain the points that your have presented in TASK A.

Once your preparation time is up, your group will be asked to discuss the topic for 10 minutes.
9.
Once the exam is over, collect your IC, exam slips and bags and leave the centre. BEST WISHES FOR MUET EXAM ( whoever you are)
