Cogon, Digos City PAROL MAKING CONTEST Theme: “Light Bestowed is a Gift of Hope” Objective: The primary purpose is to inspire and encourage individuals, families, local government units, and companies/commercial establishments to perpetuate the creation of a parol which is a Christmas symbol of family unity. The setting of limitation as to utilizing only recyclable or indigenous materials runs parallel to DASURECO’s commitment of clean energy. Mechanics: 1. Entries must be made of recyclable and indigenous materials ONLY. 2. Participants or parol makers must ONLY one (1) entry per household/juridical entity as any of the following consumer type: residential, commercial or industrial. Participation forms are available in the sub-offices/Main Office. It is also able in DASURECO’s FB page at DASURECO Cogon Digos and the Cooperative’s website at www.dasureco.com. Filled up forms may be emailed at [email protected] before the deadline or upon submission of entries. 3. Entries must be in for initial judging in the sub-office/Main Office on or before close of office hours on 14 December 2015. Entries shall be brought to the nearest sub-office/Main Office as indicated below: Sta. Cruz, Hagonoy, Digos City Matanao, Bansalan or Magsaysay Padada, Sulop, Kiblawan Malalag, Sta. 4. Lantern design must reflect the contest theme. 5. Entries may either be in the traditional five-point star design with two tails or modern innovative, stylized, star concept. Entry must be hand-made and produced only in DASURECO’s area of coverage and not commercially produced elsewhere.

6. Size must be not in excess of four feet in diameter and no greater than four feet from across the tassels with deepness of two feet. It must be capable of being hung or propped in a bamboo to be hung. 7. Entries must be colorful but not using any commercial paint. 8. Two entries from each municipality shall be chosen by the Sub-Office/Main Office as finalists for final judging to be held in the Main Office. 9. Each ed participant shall post a photo of the entry in DASURECO’s Facebook page DASURECO Cogon Digos after entry acceptance as certified by the Main/Sub-Office. Entries for final judging shall be voted upon in DASURECO’s Facebook page for the chance to win the special award, People’s Choice Parol for the most number of likes in Facebook. 10. Final judging will be on 22 December 2015 at 12:00NN. Announcement of winners will be on 22 December 2015 at 2:00 PM. Winners can claim their prizes at the Main Office in Digos City. 11. All winning and non-winning entries shall become property of DASURECO. 12. The decision of the Board of Judges is final. CRITERIA: Originality Creativity

Special awards for: (1) People’s Choice Parol (most number of FB likes), (2) Most Colorful (achieving three colors or more without using commercial paint/dyes), (3) Most Unique (for distinction in the medium or materials used), (4) Most Creative (for achieving imaginative creation rather than imitation) and, (5) Bright Star Award (for achieving the brightest concept at night time using electric lights).
