Here is the solution: Stop chrome.exe file from being started once Windows is loading (starting) drivers. Cheers, G. R. Roosta Haha. My father called me with this error on my mom's laptop. I googled the error and found this page. Having not understood most of what I saw, I scrolled the whole way through. Then I saw this one. I figured hey - I know how to do that. We'll give it a shot. So I had him boot into safe mode, click start, search for msconfig, click on that when it came up, click the Startup tab, scroll down to Google Chrome, and click the checkbox to remove the checkmark. He rebooted after that, and it's run fine since. Thank you G.R. Roosta :-)

If you can't boot to either Windows or Safe Mode use a Windows disk to run Startup Repair and the other methods below to hopefully at least allow enough access to solve any remaining issues.
