Excessive play in retarder rotor splines

Production solution

This TI applies to 4-series trucks and buses equipped with Scania retarder.

A new shaft with different dimensions has been introduced. This ensures better meshing between shaft and rotor.

Background There have been instances of wear in the splined connection between rotor and shaft, with excessive play and damage as a result.

Note: If the new shaft is used in connection with reconditioning, the rotor should also be changed if its splines are worn. This modification has been introduced into production from the following chassis numbers: Truck Scania Södertälje Scania Zwolle Scania Angers Scania Latin America
