Part P Domestic Installers Course, Vocationally Related Qualification This course enables anyone training as a Domestic Electrical Installer to the Part P course and obtain the VRQ Certificate – one of the essential qualifications you will need to have to professionally carrying out domestic electrical installation work. Course Content
Duration
Part P Building Regulations were introduced in 2005 as a way of ensuring that electrical installations in domestic systems are safely and properly installed. By law, anyone carrying out this kind of work must be fully competent. The Part P VRQ Certificate is your proof that you are competent to do the work.
5 days’ practical and theory based training, including online assessment.
This 5-day course will bring you up to the required safety legal standards, compliant with Part P Building Regulations. On completing the course, you will be able to as a Domestic Electrical Installer with the ability to install, inspect, test and certify your work. Put simply, it’s an essential qualification you need to do the job.
The course tests and assesses your current electrical skills and knowledge. To take this course, you must first be competent in all the skills needed to complete either the 2-day Skills Update Electrical Course or the 5-day Electrical Foundation Course. Please look at the course content on these courses. If you do not have the required skills, we strongly recommend whichever of these two courses best suits your level of experience before taking the Part P Domestic Installers Course.

On this course, you will study the format, content and application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (17th Edition).
3 days’ instruction and training, including online assessment.
The course is made up of eight units, relating to parts 1 to 7 of BS 7671, plus the 2008 Appendices. Prerequisite
The course takes the form of classroom instruction, ending in a two-hour multiple-choice online exam. The exam is ‘open book’ meaning that you will be able to refer to the 17th edition book throughout. There is no practical training on this course.
There are no formal entry requirements needed to take this course. However, it is expected that you will have some relevant experience and basic knowledge of electrical science. If you have already completed the 16th Edition Course (since June 2001) you do not need to take this 3-day course in order to obtain the 17th Edition qualification. City & Guilds 2382, 17th Edition Update This course is designed to enable practising electricians, domestic electrical installers and other allied professionals who hold their City & Guilds 16th Edition to update and enhance their understanding of IEE Wiring Regulations and ensure they are fully qualified up to the new standards of the 17th Edition. On this course, you will upgrade your existing knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations by studying the form, content and application of the requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (17th Edition).

The course is made up of eight units, relating to parts 1 to 7 of BS 7671, plus the 2008 Appendices. Commercial electrical testing and inspection can be a difficult subject even for experienced electricians. This course allows you to grasp the basics in a clear and straightforward way and provides you with the essential qualification you need to prove you are competent to do the job.
4 days’ instruction and training, including online assessment.
The course includes: • Preparation for initial inspection and testing • Electrical Testing
There are no formal entry requirements to take this course. It is also particularly suitable for practicing electricians or domestic installers who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some updated training before going onto achieve the City & Guilds 2391-10. It is expected that you will have basic knowledge of electrics and some professional experience of electrical installation. You must be aged 18 or above to sit this course.
The course includes both practical and theoretical electrical training. Assessment will be by: • A multiple choice online test covering the underpinning knowledge relating to the fundamental inspection, testing and initial verification of electrical installations, as required by BS 7671:2008 • A practical test covering the range of inspections, tests, verification and recording of information and results for a new electrical installation, as required by BS 7671:2008

• Candidates agree to comply with relevant Trade Skills 4U health and safety policies and procedures at all times during the course.
•P rotective boots are advised for electrical practical workshop courses.
• Where any candidate does not comply with a specific request, that candidate will be asked to leave the course immediately with no refund of course fees.
•P rotective gloves, glasses and ear protection, if required, will be provided by Trade Skills 4U to use free of charge during the course. •C ancellation of your course: fees excluding deposits are refundable if written cancellation is received at least 21 days prior to your course start date, otherwise the full fee becomes payable. • If you are unable to attend due to exceptional unavoidable circumstances, a new date may be offered at the discretion of Trade Skills 4U. •S hould you have to change your course date you will be charged an istration Fee of £25, provided we have at least 21 days notice. The deposit remains non-refundable. You can only request to move your course once.
Complaints •W e ask that you notify us immediately of any complaint and every effort will be made to address this in a timely manner. •A t the end of each course you will be provided with a form – we encourage you to complete this. • If you fail to notify us of any problem it may seriously affect any right you may have to compensation.
• Any candidate misbehaving, or acting in a way that would be an impediment to other course candidates will be asked to leave the course immediately with no refund of course fees. • Any candidate not complying with Trade Skills 4U equal opportunities policy will be asked to leave the course immediately with no refund of course fees. • All candidates attending any course with Trade Skills 4U agree to be bound by these .
