Olubowale Victor Akintimehin "Wale" (pronounced "wah-lay") the self-proclaimed "Ambassador of Rap for the Capital,” was born in Washington, D.C. on September 21, 1984
to Nigerian immigrants who first arrived in America five years before his birth. Although the family moved to Maryland when the future rapper was ten, Wale was mostly raised in D.C. He attended both Robert Morris College and Virginia State University on football scholarships, eventually transferring a third time to Bowie State. The music hit him hard, though, and soon he quit college altogether to turn toward a recording career. Many of those records sampled from '80s go-go, a more raw, percussion-driven of shoot of disco originating in D.C. Recent hype of maybach music’s freshman rapper’s album “ambition” lived up to its tremendous boast. He stars his album of with a self-confident single “Don’t hold your applause” the song is a mellow, hand-clap feeling song, lyric heavy jam with an insistence that important changes have come. The song tells his fans and on-lookers that his past is his past with the verse “Tired of making money, I'm on to making history Fuck how they feel, I keeps it realer than a documentary” to say in the least he’s tired of just making music just to make music he wants to become someone bigger. “Double M Genius’ another lyric heavy single is a song that’s basically calling out all those how are not on his “level” with the self question answering hook “What they sayin’ wale? They talkin, Talkin bout Folarin” to be honest his confidence is blooming through crafty hooks such as these. “Miami nights” with the hook “Miami nights, it was all a dream,If I can get my money right, I'm about to OD, Little more weed, 1st class seats ,First class hoes, we on South Beach, Miami nights, it was all a dream,If I can get my money right, I'm about to OD” is him telling about future ambitions of his to live in the “ lap of luxury” ballin’ , free whiling, the song itself had the feel of a soundtrack to a casino movie at the climax of where the character is just about to win the grand prize, which is what Mr.Folarin is reaching for. Wale’s smash radio hit-single “LOTUS FLOWER BOMB” is a female iration jam with subtle snare trips, with the company of Miguel’s somewhat sensual opera tone high notes, is a description of his sexing a beautiful female with underlying metaphoric lyrics to just slide by with a lyric heavy hip-hop feel, to make you smile. “Chain music” is a story of how nobody respected his talent or gave him the time of day until he got some shine with the verse "hoes changed, I didn't They say that karats help your vision But somehow it made them listen, No this ain't silver, this is my dilemma, Arrogant when I finish, I came from humble beginnings, So it's nothing to finish". The controversial “focused” ft. KID CUDI himself was a well looked for single because of previous beef between the two is entitled focused because they squelched their diferences to make a smooth song. The club banger “slight work” was a slight rapping song with underlying beats consisting of techno niches , siren-sounds and sexy cheerleaders proclaiming to “work –it!!” featuring big Sean who throws in some vulgar verses the “ass” bragger was a great partner for this project. The album titled song featuring labels partners’ Meek Mill and Rick Ross was a more heartfelt, look back on my struggle, hardcore low beats and remorseful, grateful song. With each gentlemen speaking of their ambitions area and how people will “love them for their
ambition”. Dc or Nothing was entitled for his hometown and giving homage to the streets that raised him. Giving shout outs to his home while showing respect and loyalty for his people. “That Way” ft Jeremih and Rick Ross is another radio smash hit, with sultry , wind chime, bass hitting rhythms and a vivid description of a beautiful girl and their rendezvous together.
