Australian exploration company, Global Geoscience Ltd (“Global”) (ASX: GSC) today announced plans to commence a maiden drilling program at its previously unexplored Tokop gold project in Nevada, USA, on or around 4 August, 2013. Tokop, and the nearby Excelsior gold project, are two tenements the Company holds in southern Nevada that have only recently been recognised as Intrusion Related Gold (IRG) systems. No systematic surface exploration had been undertaken at either project prior to Global’s activities. The drilling program will consist of at least five wide-spaced holes over a strike length of approximately 1km as an initial test of the 2000m by 750m zone of gold mineralisation.

Summary Tokop is an Intrusion Related Gold (IRG) system with similarities to other IRG deposits including Donlin Creek (31Moz), Fort Knox (9Moz) and Dublin Gulch (2Moz) in the Tintina Gold Province of Alaska/Yukon and Bald Mountain (8Moz) in Nevada. The project is located in southern Nevada approximately 300km from Reno and 200km from Las Vegas. Access is via Highway 95 which es within 15km of the property. Gold mineralisation occurs within and immediately adjacent to a multi-phase Jurassic granite intrusion. Gold is associated with sheeted quartz veining and quartz-sericite alteration. Rock chip and soil geochemical sampling has defined a gold zone measuring 2000m by 750m within a broader 2km x 1km halo that includes high levels of Ag-As-Bi-Mo-Te-W. Of the 574 rock samples collected to date, 100 have returned results of greater than 0.2g/t gold and 38 have returned results greater than 1g/t Au. Rock samples contain up to 34.3g/t Au and 521g/t Ag. Trenching and channel sampling has been undertaken a three locations over approximately 1km of strike. A drilling program is scheduled to commence around 4 August 2013. Five holes of 200-300m depth will be drilled within the centre of the system and targeting the highest gold values in soil and rock/trench samples. The holes will be spaced at 200-300m apart in this first phase of drilling.

Location and Tenure The Tokop gold project is located 330 km southeast of Reno and 80 km south of Tonopah in southern Nevada, USA. Global owns 100% interest in 29 sq km and holds options for 100% over an additional 2 sq km. Established Canadian gold producer, Osisko, can earn an initial 45% interest from Global by spending US$8 million and has the option to increase that to 70% by completing a feasibility study.

Geology The oldest rocks in the Tokop area comprise a sequence of thinly bedded limestone and minor mudstone. These rocks are tightly folded and probably belong to the Proterozoic Wyman Formation. On the other side of the NW-SE fault that cuts the Tokop area, a similar sequence of thinly bedded limestone is shallow dipping and relatively undeformed. These rocks are probably Cambrian in age. The sediments are intruded by a number of different phases of Jurassic granitic rocks. Skarn alteration and gold mineralisation are associated with certain of these phases. Within the main target area, the intrusive rocks are exposed in three zones separated by limestone and mudstone. Geological, geochemical and aeromagnetic data suggest the intrusions coalesce at depth to form an intrusive stock of dimensions 2km x 1km. The sediments and intrusions are overlain by late Miocene rhyolite to dacite lavas, welded tuffs and ash that post date the mineralisation. Pediment gravel and sand deposits fill most valleys and are the youngest mappable geological units in the area.

Geochemistry Over 1000 soil and 574 rock chip samples have been collected at Tokop over several years. The geochemical data defines a gold zone measuring 2000m by 750m plus several smaller anomalies. Of the 574 rock chip samples collected to date, 100 have returned gold contents of greater than 0.2g/t and 38 have returned gold contents of greater than 1g/t Au. Rock samples contain up to 34.3g/t Au and 521g/t Ag.

Rock chip channel samples were collected from sections of continuous outcrop exposed in trenches and road cuts. Each sample consisted of approximately 4kg of material collected over a three metre horizontal interval. Soil samples of 0.5kg were collected from fine material at surface but were not sieved. Samples were analysed by American Assay Laboratories (FA30 and I-2A) and ALS Chemex (Au-I21 and ME-I41) in Reno, Nevada.

Mineralisation and Metal Zoning Gold mineralisation occurs in sheeted and stock work quartz veins within biotite granite and gossanous quartz jasperoid “ledges” within the sediment. The quartz veins are surrounded by zones of sericite alteration. The sheeted vein mineralisation is largely confined to outcrops overlying the interpreted buried intrusion. The quartz jasperoid mineralisation occurs around the peripheries and overlying the buried intrusion. The best gold mineralisation occurs within the bodies of biotite granite overlying the interpreted intrusion. Higher gold values generally correlate with higher values of bismuth, molybdenum, tellurium and tungsten. High silver, arsenic, zinc and copper values occur over a larger zone than gold. High values of these metals roughly overlie the interpreted intrusion. High antimony values generally occur in a donut shaped zone with high values coinciding with the outer margins of the interpreted intrusion.

Drilling There is no previous drilling known at Tokop. A Reverse Circulation (RC) program is planned to commence in early August, and will test a 1km long section of the main target. Five holes of 200300m depth will be drilled at 200-300m spacing along strike and will target beneath the highest grade mineralisation from surface trenching.

Potential The geology, geochemistry and metal zonation at Tokop is very similar to the 9Moz Fort Knox gold deposit, Tintina Gold Belt, Alaska. At Fort Knox the best gold mineralisation is associated with sheeted and stock work quartz veins. The veins are hosted by the peripheral and upper zones of a multi-phase kilometre-scale granitic intrusion. It is likely that the peripheral zones are best mineralised as they have been the most brittle and permeable during mineralisation. At Tokop the metal zonation suggests that mineralisation is centred on an interpreted buried intrusion. The roof zone and walls of the 2km x 1km buried intrusion represent excellent targets for Intrusion Related Gold mineralisation.
