What are the school’s priorities and special programs? -
Adelaide High School have ‘Our Vision’ which is a list of visions and priorities they have in their school. This list is spread around the school grounds in every class room for each student to be aware of. They highlight wellbeing, learning and culture.

Adelaide High School provides a centre of excellence and specialised services for deaf and hearing impaired students. Students enrolled have access to all curriculum offerings and are ed by trained teachers for the deaf or staff.

Behaviour management: -
if a student doesn’t hand up an assignment or finish their homework they are given a green slip which means they need to attend a catch up lesson at recess, this is only for middle school.

Pink slip: if a student arrives to class late they are given a pink slip, this means that they will pick up rubbish at recess or lunch and have the slip signed by the teacher on yard duty, the student must return the signed pink slip to the teacher who gave it to them.

What are the physical, social, cultural and intellectual characteristics of students in the class? -
The social and cultural characteristics of the students vary, as this is a nonbackground Modern Greek language class, there are students who do have Greek background, however do not know the language. There are also other cultures in the class that have just begun their study of Modern Greek in High School. The intellectual characteristics vary, the background students can understand and have good pronunciation, the non-background students can grasp the grammar quite quickly, as they are learning it from a different perspective.
What have you observed about the student as a cohort eg. gender ratios? -
The gender ratio is quite unbalanced in this class. There are 18 students in the class, 16 female 2 male. The two boys sit together and usually are on task, however can be disruptive to other students at times. The girls are split into groups and work well together, they help each other when they need to and when asked to work collaboratively they work well.
What can students do and what are they are still learning to do? -
Students can read and write, they are still learning to understand new vocabulary and new grammatical cases.
How will you identify their prior knowledge and learning strengths and weaknesses? -
I will give students a pre-assessment quiz to determine their strengths and weaknesses, after this I will be able to identify what their learning needs are.

PAT testing, based on Maths, Science and English.

What are the key learning areas that you are going to teach? -
I will be teaching the topic food, along with this I will be teaching some grammar classes on adverbs using place, time, manner, quantity and cause.
What resources are available in the classroom and school? -
There are dictionaries available in the class room
