The BTS commissioning & SW files are stored on the station unit module(SUMA)The Station unit module is the core of the BTS ,it is responsible for• The O&M Functions such as Alarms reporting ,BTS Configuration,internal Power Supply control & clock generation and distribution• Transmission functions by connecting the BTS to the BSC through theABIS cable.The ABIS can carry up to 32 time slots• 0 to 30 are assigned to the TRES for normal traffic(voice and Dataservices)• 31 : is assigned to the OMU in the SUMA card for signaling (Controlinformation) between BSC & BTS such as Alarm reporting ,BTSMaster file , configuration files etc.. 4. 4. LED Color Status DescriptionOML Yellow On BTS is supervised and connected to the BSCBlinking BTS & BSC link is being establishedOff Link disconnected.ABIS Yellow On Abis 1 is connected and can serve TCH/SignalingBlinking There are Alarms on the ABISOff Not configured or not used.O&M Yellow On SUMA master file & configuration are present in theEPROMBlinking In a transient state, SUMA is loading the BTS MSF &Configuration file from the BSCOff Not used.FAULTRED On Fatal alarm on BTS Module (ANC,TRE etc ..)Blinking Non-fatal alarm. Such as Faulty Fan unitOff No alarm.SUMAcard led statusindication 5. 5. Offline 6. 6. • Switch the BTS off by pushing down its DC C/BS 7. 7. • Unscrew the ABIS Cable 8. 8. • Open BTS SW and Type Name : commte : bts2site 9. 9. • Go to Configuration Click On BTS Software 10. 10. • Press the folder icon to start choosing the BTS Files 11. 11. • Select Master File from the BTS SW folder 12. 12. • Select 0F File from the BTS SW folder 13. 13. • Wait for the BTS to all the files ,During the SW the Suma LED Status will be :OML ,ABIS & O&M Flashinglast file to be ed is the OF 002 file after that the O&Mwill be solid 14. 14. Commissioning 15. 15. • From Configuration choose BTS Commissioning 16. 16. • Click on Start Commissioning 17. 17. • Notice that the status of the commissioning changed from notrunning to running 18. 18. • Edit Q1 address by clicking its start button 19. 19. • Edit Remote Inventory by clicking its start button and pressYES : if the update is already done in the Remote InventorysNO : if the update is not done in the Remote Inventory s

20. 20. • Edit Sector Mapping by clicking its start buttonAssign sector-ID to each combiner and then press ok 21. 21. • Edit Twin-Settings by clicking its start buttonChoose the mode of each Twin-TRE , usually in our networkwe leave at the default which is Dual TRE 22. 22. • Hardware check by clicking its start buttonthe Suma card will start to check the HW available insidethe BTS through the RI-Cable 23. 23. • INIT _ALL_SECT by clicking its start buttonthe SUMA card will power on all the combiners and TRES tocheck their operation 24. 24. Choose End commissioning ,Stop commissioning window will appearchoose ok after moving all the modules in the selected module windowWait for the BTS to restart itself SW and then connect the Abis cable. 25. 25. • Finally restart the BTS HWthe SUMA led status should be as following :Abis & OML are solidO&M Flashing as the BTS loading its data and RSLs from the BSC 26. 26. • The loading process will take 15 to 20 Minutes ,after that theO&M Led will be solid and the SUMA will initialize theBTS sectors (Combiners & TRES) 27. 27. • The BTS Terminal program will start to load the BTS DataTake snapshots and check with OMC
