hchris Hallo,

ich arbeite gerade an einem Projekt und suche die genauen, deutschen, offiziellen Bezeichnungen der folgenen Kanonen und Munitionstypen. Ich habe schon diverse Literatur durchforstet aber irgendwie gibt es immer unterschiede, sodass ich mir jetzt nicht mehr ganz sicher bin, was noch stimmt und was nicht :( Naja, anbei die Liste, die ich bis jetzt zusammengetragen habe, bitte um Korrektur! Wenn möglich auch die Funktion in den Klammern. Wäre echt toll, wenn mir jemand aushelfen könnte!

Yes, the ballistic cap. The 5cm Pzgr has a (piercing)cap only. The 7,5cm has a (piercing) cap with a ballistic cap crimped or spotwelded upon. Regards, DJH

Hallo, as a non english native speaker I have also fought with this topic and found this: The problem is that one must distinguish the ARMOR and ARMOUR Piercing ammunition. In the US the term AP is used for solid shot with or without ballistic cap (windshield) APC is used for shots with armor piercing cap (correctly Makarov's cap :-) with or without the Ballistic cap For the UK the are shown on the page from Textbook of Ammunition (1957) I am not sure about the Aussies, Kiwies, Canadians, South Africans and other english speaking countries. More problems rise when someone tries to translate foreign ammunition by using the US-UK . The Russians use HE-Frag (OF) shells but US only HE. Cheers, Bob

Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but it can be read differently by two different people. For example Your pics in UK 1)APC 2) APCBC in US both APC, and you dont want to read the czech translation:-) The great thing at this forum is that one can get the answer. @Zunder Good job, didn't want to interfere.

So, 8,8 cm Flak dazu. Ich stelle es ab jetzt direct in hchris's Liste. Und ich erwähne nur die die Patronen die ich in Vorschriften zuruckfinde, die Versuchgeschosse usw lass ich ausser betracht.

Übrigens, eine dumme Frage, immer wieder lese ich im Internet 7,5cm Pak 40 L/46. Was hat es eigentlich damit auf sich? Ist sie in Wahrheit L/46 oder L/48?

Ich möchte für eine Wiki (selbstverständlich ohne Profit) die richtigen Munitionstypen verschiedener Kanonen zusammenstellen (für deutsche, französische, britische und amerikansche). Für die Info bezüglich der deutschen Kanonen hast du mir glücklicherweise geholfen, jetzt muss ich nur noch die anderen Nationen durchbüffeln. Danke nochmal, ich werde dir das sicher nicht vergessen!
