History & Development Gravity Cast Pvt Ltd was established in 2004 with their small investment capital of Rs 45lacs, with 3 Directors and 12 Promoters. The company is engaged in producing various types of investment castings, if required full furnished investment casting are also manufactured through CNC route. Their efforts have resulted just in first year ending; currently they are under process of BvQ and ISO9000.

Size of unit & form of organization The size of the unit measured by amount invested in the fixed asset or by the employees; basically there are three types of industries. 1) Small Scale 2) Medium Scale 3) Large Scale Gravity Cast Pvt Ltd is small scale unit. Its investment in fixed assets is 150lacs and its turn over of year till date is 55lacs, by end of the year 2005 it will touch 150lacs. The man power of the company is about 50 employers. Gravity Cast Pvt Ltd is a professional company. Its ed under company act 1956. RAW MATERIAL
Raw material is very important part in business. Without raw material production can’t be go further. If we get raw material easily then it is increase our profit. Gravity Cast use alloy steel scrap with grade 15,16,22 and many more, it depends on the demand of the customer and the product he needs is going to be used where. They also use aluminum scrap, mole (raw part of steel), gun metal, steel and iron.
Source of raw material is also very important for the company. B’cos transportation cost is most effective in the raw material actual cost. 1) Bhavanager Alang Scrap 2) Ahmedabad Scrap from different industries 3) Brokers

PRODUCTION PROCEDURE 1. WAX INJECTION Wax replicas of the desired castings Are produced by injection molding. These replicas are called patterns
.
2. ASSEMBLY The patterns are attached to a central wax stick, called a sprue, to form a casting cluster or assembly.
3. SHELL BUILDING The shell is built by immersing the assembly in a liquid ceramic slurry and then into a bed of extremely fine sand. Up to eight layers may be applied in this manner.
4. DEWAX once the ceramic is dry, the wax is melted out, creating a negative impression of the assembly within the shell.
15 5. CONVENTIONAL CASTING In the conventional process, the shell is filled with molten metal by gravity pouring. As the metal cools, the parts and gates, sprue and pouring cup become one solid casting.
6. KNOCKOUT When the metal has cooled and solidified, the ceramic shell is broken off by vibration.
7. CUT OFF The parts is cut away from the central sprue using a high speed friction saw or cut of m/c.
8. FINISHED CASTINGS after minor finishing operations, the metal castings--identical to the original Wax patterns--are ready for shipment to the customer.

Closer dimensional tolerance. Casting Tolerance is + 0.2 per 25 mm.
Unlimited choice of alloy, all type of ferrous and non ferrous alloy can be cast. Machining and fabrication may be avoided in single parts. Easily machined components.

Quality Control Facilities Chemical Analysis Laboratory: In- house well equipped wet analysis laboratory for analysis of metal composition and melt control. Physical Testing Laboratory : In-house well equipped with universal testing machine And Brinell hardness tester machine to measure physical Properties of casting like tensile test, elongation, hardness etc. Non Destructive Test: Radiography, Ultrasonic, magnetic crack detection, Dei Penetration etc possible at out side developed facility. Standard Tolerance: As a general normal linear tolerance of investment casting starts with +/- 0.15 mm and extending to +/- 0.25 mm up to 25mm and +/- 0.15 mm for each addition of 25 mm thereafter.

Gravity Cast Pvt Ltd is having the induction furnish with capacity of 250kg per hour. It melts 250kg of metal at 1800 degree temperature. Per day the capacity production capacity of the company is 0.75 metrics torns.

Disposal of waste In Gravity there is a proper drainage system is there. The west products like wax & steel is reused so there is a no chance of waste. Gravity is using induction furnace which produce less amount of pollution because it use electricity to melt steel at a 1800c. Oil furnace is used to heat cell which produce some amount of pollution because the cell is hated at 1200c.

Promotion & Transfer Policy Promotion:Promotion means to upgrade the employees to a higher level job on basis of seniority or merit basis promotion is important as it increases the moral of workers.
Transfer Policy:Promotion policy of gravity is based on seniority as well as merit basis. But first preference is given to merits. As gravity does not have any other separate branch in other are as. So transfer can not be done. So there is no need of transfer policy.

Wages & Salary istration
1) Time based wages. 2) Piece based wages.
Time based wages means wages given on regular period which generally of one month. This wages is known as salary. Piece based wages means wages give no the basis of work he had done. As Gravity is a small company they sometimes have more work so they need to hire some person on piece based wages & to other staff fixed salary is given.
