Investigacion uso de etanol en motores de ignición por chispa.

¿Qué es el etanol? Es un biocombustible y por lo tanto es renovable, a diferencia del petróleo, que es un combustible de tipo fósil.

 Los biocombustibles “ecológicos” son carburantes que sustituyen en mayor o menor medida el consumo de la “gasolina”.

 Tiene como principal objetivo disminuir las emisiones de los famosos gases de efecto invernadero que calientan en exceso la superficie de la tierra y provocan un gran aceleramiento del cambio climático.

Es un combustible de alto octanaje superior a 100.Los motores que usan combustible de alto octanaje pueden funcionar de manera más eficiente al usar relaciones de compresión más altas.

El etanol se consume de un 25% a un 30% más rápidamente que la gasolina; para ser competitivo, por tanto, debe tener un menor precio por galón

El etanol, al ser un oxigenante de las gasolinas, mejora su octanaje de manera considerable, lo que ayuda a descontaminar nuestras ciudades y a reducir los gases causantes del efecto invernadero.

El etanol actúa como un anticongelante en los motores, mejorando el arranque del motor en frío y previniendo el congelamiento.
