Key duties/responsibilities for project supervisor 1. Act as project supervisor on capital construction and renovation projects. 2. Direct and monitor various design- and construction-related activities, including the work of architects, contractors and other consultants. 3. Review architectural and engineering drawings. 4. Monitor projects to ensure compliance with building codes, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures, including inspection of completed projects for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established contracts, standards and specifications. 5. Manage the budget of all project matters. 6. Develop budget estimates, prepare RFPs, select and vet bidders. 7. Assist in the preparation, solicitation and review of bids, proposals and istration of contract documents related to capital construction projects. 8. Review projects and contracts for compliance and take appropriate action to resolve discrepancies. 9. Act as liaison with construction management firms; oversee their performance and coordinate their services. 10. Inspect and coordinate maintenance for Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), diesel generators, automatic transfer switches and associated critical equipment.
Key job qualifications for project supervisor
1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or architecture. Military experience, with appropriate MOS, may be used in lieu of educational requirement. 2. Three to five years project supervisor work experience. 3. Experience in the supervising of construction projects, including supervisory or lead responsibility and istering/monitoring of construction contracts. 4. Experience with UPS and diesel generator power systems. 5. Experience with various mechanical equipment such as chillers and cooling towers. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 7. Flexibility to answer emergencies on a 24/7 basis. 8. Good writing ability and organizational skills. 9. Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills. 10. Solid computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Project, Excel, Outlook and Word.
