(GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & CURRENT AFFAIRS + TECHNICAL) 1) GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & CURRENT AFFAIRS: Currencies & capitals of countries, historical places of world, portfolios of present ministers, Who is Who and What is What in Pakistan & other countries of world, sports, abbreviations, current affairs, Islamic history, geography of Pakistan, Power generation capacity of DAMs & power plant in Pakistan & important dates relating to them. 2) TECHNICAL:  Basic Electrical Engineering: Basic concepts & numerical on electrical terminologies such as current, voltage, resistance, power, emf, energy, electric field intensity, form factor, peak factor & sinusoidal waveform characteristics. Dc batteries & types, coulomb's law, Ohm's law, law of resistance, temperature coefficient of resistance & related problems etc.  Basic Electronics: Fundamental concepts & problems related to diode, transistor, power supplies, analog filters, Rectifiers. Terminologies like biasing, amplification, doping, amplifier configuration, amplifier classification, problem relating to VDR, CDR etc.  Electrical Circuits: Basics of capacitor (parallel plate capacitor), resistor & inductor & energy stored in them. Problems from KVL,

KCL, VDR, CDR. Impedance of RLC, RC, RL series & parallel circuits, resonance in series & parallel, harmonics in a wave, capacitive & inductive reactance, types of power. Difference between Ac and Dc voltage and their advantage & disadvantages.  Electrical Machines: Concepts, working principle, details of constructional parts, losses, troubleshooting techniques, power factor & efficiency of Transformer (shell & core type), DC generator, DC motor (types, application & speed regulation, motor starter), Alternator, synchronous motor, induction motor, Faraday law of electromagnetic induction & numericals relating to them.  Instrumentation: Opamp (, operating modes, gain Applications, properties & related ), Transducers & Sensors (Thermal, displacement, pressure), terminals & working principle of energy meter, watt meter, ammeter, moving coil meter, permanent magnet meter & voltmeter etc.  Communication: Basics of modulator & multiplexing, A.M wave frequency domain analysis, electromagnetic spectrum ranges, basic problems relating to wavelength, speed of light, bandwidth of voice signal, ADC conversion of voice signal & Nyquist theorem etc.  Industrial Electronics: SCADA & DCS system, layout, details, components used and differences.

INTERVIEW Candidate is assessed both technically & personality wise. With regard to his general knowledge, he should be aware of current running power projects, overall power generation capacity, current energy shortfall, knowledge about power plants with generation capacity in Pakistan & basic knowledge about organization & nature of job. Moreover, interpersonal, managerial, presentation & linguistic skills are observed.
